BIMBI’S PHILOSOPHY
The Capable, Curious Child
At Bimbi, we see every child as competent from the very beginning - full of ideas, wonder, and their own way of understanding the world. We honour each child as an active participant in their learning, not an empty vessel, but a capable human with a voice that matters.
The 100 Languages of Expression
Children communicate in endlessly beautiful ways. Through art, play, movement, storytelling, nature, and the quiet moments in between. We nurture and celebrate these 100 Languages, honouring every child’s unique style of expression and meaning-making.
Educators as Partners in Learning
Our educators walk alongside children as co-learners and co-researchers. We listen closely, observe deeply, and respond with intention - supporting ideas, extending inquiries, and building relationships that help each child feel seen, heard, and truly understood.
The Environment as a Teacher
Our spaces are thoughtfully prepared with natural materials, open-ended resources, and invitations to explore. The environment supports curiosity, collaboration, and the joy of discovering something new every day.

Welcome and Settling In As parents and children arrive, parents sign their children in, help the children store their belongings and then take them to join their friends. Children of all ages sometimes play together for a short period. This is an enjoyable time, particularly for siblings.
Breakfast Breakfast is served for children who arrive before 7.30am.
Toileting and Nappy Change Educators remind younger children to use the toilet at this time and check the little ones’ nappies. Nappies are changed as required throughout the day.
Morning Tea Morning tea is served to children in their age groups to start their day together.
Learning Through Play (Indoor/Outdoor) During this time, children engage in rich indoor and outdoor play—exploring, creating, imagining, and following their curiosity, while educators join as co-learners to observe, guide, and extend their ideas through meaningful interactions.
Lunch A freshly prepared hot lunch is served each day for children to enjoy together, with progressive mealtimes offered to support their natural rhythm.
Rest and Quiet Time After lunch, older children are given opportunity to sleep or engage in quiet activities such as reading and puzzles. The length of time and their need for sleep varies from child to child. Infants and toddlers sleep wherever needed.
